I purchased this airplane kit in 1990.
That summer I assembled the wings, tail surfaces and fusalage.
I was not happy with the slight twist in the fusalage so I put it on the shelf.

After I crashed my Piper Cherokee I decided that I would finish this model up.
This summer (2001), I put the 2 wing halves together, assembled the turtle deck,
closed in the engine compartment and glued the tail to the fusalage.
now I'm almost ready to cover but I am going to seek some tutoring
since this will be the first model I've covered.
Up to now all of the planes I've finished have been ARF's.

The covering stage of this project has begun.

Here he is, Bill Sommers hard at work.
Bill is teaching me the art of covering a radio controlled airplane.
He instructed and demonstrated the technics then let me try.
I ended up doing about 1/4 of the work.

Pull the covering and tack it around the perimeter.
Don't worry too much about wrinkles, they will come out when hit with the heat gun.

You have to get the nack of holding the gun at just the right distance
and moving at just the right speed.

Here is the bottom half of the wing completed.

Just a few more trips over to Bill's shop and the Ultra Sport will be covered!
